CBT therapy is a psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, OCD, sleep issues, and other chronic and severe mental health disorders.
ERP therapy is a highly effective, evidenced based type of CBT primarily used to treat OCD. ERP is recognized as the gold standard treatment for OCD. It works by having individuals gradually face fears (exposure) and refrain from performing rituals or compulsions (response prevention), which helps the brain "rewire" and learn to tolerate anxiety and reduce the need for rituals.
IFS therapy developed by Richard C. Schwartz posits that the psyche is made of an "internal family" of subpersonalities or "parts". IFS therapy aims to heal wounded "parts" and restore mental and emotional balance. IFS therapy is used to treat a wide range of mental health issues including trauma, anxiety, and depression.

We live in a society and culture of surmounting and debilitating stress. Stress negatively impacts our minds, time, energy, relationships, families, careers, and finances. Stress is often the root cause of many relationship problems, health/mental health problems, as well as sociological problems. Kim is a certified stress management professional. Take charge of your life with stress management and turn pressure into progress.
Whether you are a college student, domestic engineer, professional working outside of the home, minister, or missionary, there is a common complaint often made: I just do not have enough time! Anger Management empowers individuals to become educated and aware of personal anger management style and personal anger triggers in order to gain skills and tools to help with emotional regulation and have greater self-control over anger symptoms.
Therapy focuses on assisting clients with the emotional, mental, and relational aspects of muti-cultural transitions and the unique aspects surrounding multicultural living.
Family counseling at Damascus Road Counseling is offered only in the context of conjoint individual therapy. Kim recognizes that some clients would like for their spouse or partner, extended family, or close friends to join them in therapy from time to time. When a client who is in individual therapy requests a family therapy session, and after it has been approved by the counselor, the appointment will be an in office session, where the focus will be on the individual goals of the client, in the context of a family session. Family members understand that they are not clients of Damascus Road Counseling, but are there fully to help their loved one meet individual therapy goals.
